We have finally moved into our apartment and unpacked suitcases and boxes. It feels so good to be settled. I'm in love with this apartment. Timber floors, tall bay windows overlooking green (soon to be white) trees, high ceilings with exposed timber beams and it has been styled beautifully. We're renting a furnished apartment and actually only have it for 6 months, but it's really nice to be here and able to live here for a while. The owner has really good style and having explored her kitchen I can tell she loves to cook. Very happy about my little finds so far including 2 Le Creuset Cast Iron pots which means I can hold off a little longer in spending the money on my own. So here's my little 'at home in Canada' food post - maple & peach bundt cake. The pureed peaches in this make it really moist. Dust it with icing sugar, make a cup of tea or coffee and it makes a nice afternoon treat.
That is so beautiful, Channie!! Totally up your alley. I love it! Hope you guys are well and French lessons aren't doing your head in too much :)
ReplyDeleteThis apartment is stunning! I can't wait to see your photos as those trees change colour. Congratulations on finding your temporary home while the rest of life settles in. Looks like you have a photographer's dream!
ReplyDeleteNice C!!! is that wide angle with the new lens??? looking good!! will eml soon xxx
ReplyDeleteThanks Kat, I know very happy and feel so at home here. I went and bought the book French for Dummies so I can do a bit of my own reading/studying. It's helping to understand the grammar element of the language a bit better.
ReplyDeleteThanks Lucent Imagery, me neither! Looking forward to driving down to Vermont to look at the forrest colour in a few weeks.
Miss Nat! Have you left Aus yet? Keen to hear how you're going. And yes, I used the wide angle lens. It came in handy! xx
What's the focal length on that lens? Is it a prime?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful, beautiful, beautiful apartment. How are you adjusting to life in Canada?

Wow you found an amazing place!! It's beautiful. Six months will go by quickly, but at least it will help take the edge off as you get to know your new city :) Don't be shy to post on Twitter if you need any help with your French, or anything else :) Enjoy!!

ReplyDeleteLuisa, I have a couple clients I still do work for back in Australia but the hope is to pick up a bit of work here. Not knowing French is a bit limiting though which is why I've thrown myself into that.
