Before and after

As mentioned last week I picked up an old crockery hutch from an antique dealer. This was my first DIY furniture project so a little nervous but pretty happy with the outcome. I used Porter's Milk Paint which I thoroughly recommend. It comes in a powder form which you mix with water to form a pancake like consistency and then you paint it on. It doesn't have a strong smell like most paints and it is really nice to work with. So after quite a bit of elbow grease sanding it back, undercoating, painting and sealing it with beeswax this is the result.

  3. It's perfect! And, unlike me you didn't leave the project sitting around for weeks on end waiting to make a decision on paint/colour etc!
    Very impressed.

  6. Thanks everyone! It was a nice feeling having finished it and seeing the result. And so nice to have everything stored away and off the floor!

  7. This reminds me of my family's old China cabinet we had re-painted white just like this. These are lovely photos.
