Our little state of Queensland is slowly disappearing underwater. We have had a very small handful of sunny days in the past month and this week the weather has been extreme. Flash flooding has left many homes underwater and owners have had to evacuate to higher ground. The Brisbane river is due to swell today which is a concern for many with homes and businesses close to its edge. Hopefully this is the worst of it and soon we have clear skies again.
Oh, my thoughts are with you and everyone in QLD. It's so weird for me to be away from home when something like this is happening. That Aussie spirit will get everyone through.
ReplyDeleteStay safe, Chantelle.
Thanks Amanda :) It's really quite surreal. The whole city seems to have gone into a panic. Tomorrow lunch it will be high tide and the dam has to release water so they suspect the worst is yet to come. Like you say, the Aussie spirit will get us through!
ReplyDeleteIt's just devastating to see so many homes, communities and businesses destroyed on the news. Sending much love and hope from Sydney. Stay safe! xxx
ReplyDeleteHope you're managing to stay dry. It's so sad when the weather goes beyond one drizzly day to a long lasting storm.
ReplyDeleteIt is truly devastating. All these years of drought and hoping for rain and now this. Stay safe and dry and on a positive note...I'm really enjoying your beautiful blog : )
