Thank you for all the caring messages left with my last post. It really has been quite a traumatic and surreal experience these past few days. So many have been left homeless in Brisbane and our city now faces a very long road to recovery. We were left without power (some suburbs still without) for a couple days and pretty much trapped in our suburb as every street we turned down was filled with water. Grocery store shelves were emptied with panic buying, it was hard to communicate with our phones draining one by one and nothing could be done until the water began to recede. Our new place luckily was left untouched but friends of ours were not so lucky. They are now staying with us until their home is livable again. Tomorrow we also face a big day of cleaning up a family business that went completely under. Times like this really brings out the good in people with individuals you have never met lending a hand to get your life back together again. Nice to see.
Hi
ReplyDeleteI read you from Basque Country in Spain. The news has arrived with sadness. I hope you can come back your normal life in a few weeks.
I love your blog.
Oh my...I didn't know you live there. I have been seeing this, it's all over our news. I want to help in anyway I can. If you know of a family that needs some extra "anything" please email me the address and I will get a package together for them, is there anything you need? You and everyone are all in my prayers.
ReplyDeleteWishing you all the best on your road to recovery Chantelle, I have been watching the constant devastating news and send my sympathy and regards to all of you in the floods.
ReplyDeleteAll the best.

Hi, I read your blog from Paris and I discovered in your last post that you are concerned by the floods... I hope the recovery will be not too long for you and your family...
ReplyDeleteBest regards
Our thoughts are with you all ... I have been reading the Sunday papers and there are just so many devastating stories, so so sad, but there are also some hopeful ones, people really are amazing in times like these, just seeing the volunteers getting in there and helping out doing their little bit ... wishing you well.XXX
