For some time know I have been wanting to learn more about film photography. Digital is so easy and convenient but there is a depth and soft grain to film photographs which I love. There is also the curious excitement you feel as they are being printed. I would love to eventually invest in a Leica. They don't come cheap but they really do take beautiful photographs and I think it would be a camera you would hold onto for years.
I fully agree with you. I love the look of film grain and can't stand it's modern day equivalent found in digital compression (noise). Leica's are beautiful cameras and worth the investment in my eyes. One of my co-workers owns a digital one and his photos are still superior in noise compression.
ReplyDeleteI would love to own a film camera, but there are not many places left that will develop them.
Bryan has an old Leica. He takes some beautiful photos with it. Yes it's very hard to have film developed now, digital is taking over. I'm keen to learn how to setup a darkroom. I think that will be the next photography course that I do.
ReplyDeleteI love developing in a darkroom! I learned it in highschool and had so much fun doing it. I could see you having lots of fun with one!
