Sounds I love

My latest music purchase is Pet Grief by The Radio Dept. I love the melodic vocals and find it so calming and inspiring to work to. There are elements and sounds that remind me a little of M83, who I also really love.

Brigitte Sire

LA based photographer Brigitte Sire takes beautiful photos. I love her raw style and there is a softness to her images which I find really alluring.

In an effort to bring some excitement into my somewhat mundane Tuesday, I'm counting down the days till our honeymoon and thought I'd google some images of Aruba. The water looks so clear. Let's hope it is actually that way and Photoshop hasn't played a huge role in its beauty.

I'm also very excited about eating many Dutch pancakes as the best pancakes I have ever had were in Amsterdam. Besides my Mum's strawberry jam rolled pancakes that she used to wake us up in the morning with of course!

Market flowers

I've never actually bought myself a bunch of flowers, but I was at the markets this morning and they had buckets of flowers that were so cheap. A nice way to add some colour into a saturday.

Little seahorse

My great uncle gave this little seahorse to my family many years ago. We have kept it in a tiny box to keep it safe but I thought it would be nice to display. It's a little reminder of all the kind and creative ways he has shown he cares.

Milk magazine

I love this cover of French children's magazine Milk. The styling and colours are coordinated really well. Nice simple typography as well.

While on movies...

I saw Up today and really enjoyed it. A nice colourful kids movie with a beautiful story about aspirations and the realisation that although life isn't always as we plan, that all the unpredictability's are part of it's journey and what makes it unique. I'm not one to cry in a movie but within the first 10 mins my eyes were already welling up.

Vicky Cristina Barcelona

If there was ever a movie to inspire you to see Barcelona, Vicky Cristina Barcelona would be it. Directed and written by Woody Allen and starring Scarlett Johansson and Penelope Cruz, it's based around a mutual love for a seductive painter. Worth watching for a bit of romance and beautiful scenery.

It's every designers dream to work with beautiful paper in their design and you rarely ever have a chance to use it due to your clients budget. LoveLeaf Press have been fortunate enough to produce some really inspiring and creative work with beautiful detailing.

Friday photo

I had my very first roll from my Lomo printed this week. A little practice is needed but I realised how much I love and miss the excitement and surprise of having film printed.

Three Potato Four

Another very cool vintage inspired site that sell old school pieces. Three Potato Four collect and sell items like letters from old signs, paper & prints and funky tableware. I'm wishing I had a bigger apartment!

Vintage inspired

This site is so cool. David Met Nicole is a Sydney retail store that source vintage and new pieces from around the world. Some really interesting pieces on there.

I saw these tea & latte cups on the Lily G blog this morning and love them. I have been on the hunt for tea cups for my wedding to go with our blue and white theme and love that these are handmade and quite unique. My name is on their to call list for when their in stock!

Little shop

If you have ever walked along Latrobe Terrace in Paddington you may have stumbled across this little store called Ici et La. They specialise in furniture and accessories from France and have a beautiful collection of fabrics in vibrant colours and stripes. Quite a unique store.
